For my family, she walked with my parents through the early and middle phases of dementia – starting long before formal diagnosis. Our team philosophy was to ease their stress and bring as much joy to their lives as possible. At first Tara helped them with life administration like email and dentist appointments while also orchestrating date nights. Soon after that she noticed they were forgetting to eat, so she started cooking for them. They loved the daily walks to local marinas. She constantly thought up fun adventures to museums and local attractions. For example, she drove my parents to the university where they met, walking them around campus, revisiting a beautiful time of their lives.
Later, Tara and her team helped us navigate doctors, accompanied us to neurology appointments, and put safety measures in their home. Eventually, she helped us evaluate care facilities, then provided supplemental care and activities once they moved out of their home. She took them out to lunch and mall walking for the first 6 months of facility living until it was no longer possible.
I have referred Tara to everyone I know. She problem solves with each family using her knowledge, experience, creativity, compassion, and respect.
